Is SleepShift covered?
In most cases, yes. SleepShift qualifies as an HSA/FSA-eligible behavioral-health expense— so your pre-tax dollars can cover it. Here's how to use them.
How to use your benefits
Start your plan as normal
Begin your free 7-day trial and pick a plan. You can pay with an HSA/FSA debit card directly, or with any card and reimburse yourself later.
Get an itemized receipt
Every charge generates an itemized receipt in your account settings, with the description, date, and amount your plan administrator needs.
Submit for reimbursement
If you didn't pay with an HSA/FSA card, upload the receipt to your benefits portal as a behavioral-health expense. Most plans reimburse within a couple of weeks.
Want it in writing?
We'll email you a ready-to-submit HSA/FSA receipt template and a short eligibility summary you can hand to your plan administrator.
HSA/FSA questions
Why is CBT-I HSA/FSA eligible?
HSA and FSA funds cover qualified medical expenses, which include treatments for diagnosed or treatable health conditions. CBT-I is the guideline-recommended treatment for chronic insomnia, so a structured CBT-I program is generally treated as an eligible behavioral-health expense. Eligibility ultimately depends on your specific plan — check with your administrator.
Do I need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?
Usually not for a behavioral-health program, but some plans ask for one. If yours does, your doctor can provide it; our intake assessment and your sleep data can support the request. We can email you a receipt template to submit.
Can I pay with my HSA/FSA card directly?
Yes — enter your HSA/FSA debit card at checkout like any card. If it's declined for a category reason, pay with a personal card and reimburse yourself with the itemized receipt.
What if my plan denies it?
Reimbursement decisions are made by your plan administrator, not by us. If a claim is denied, the receipt and an LMN from your doctor usually resolve it. We can't guarantee any specific plan's decision.
